I have been working out at Body Intensity for the last 10 years and the gym has become a second home! I started when I was 23 years old: overweight, eating terribly, low self-esteem, battling depression and anxiety, and I knew I needed to do something for myself and my health sooner than later. A simple google search led me to the Wayne location where I filled out a form fill, and within an hour, Dominick called me to get me on the schedule. I remember being so nervous going into my consultation, but Dominick made me feel comfortable, not judged, and like he truly wanted to help. We discussed the importance of nutrition, cardio, drinking water, sleep, weight lifting, everything! At the end of the 1-hour consult, I had a food journal app on my phone, and he created a fitness plan truly targeted to my specific goals, my body type, and my age. The first three months were tough because my body was changing every single day: I stuck to the plan, did cardio at the gym, followed his nutrition plan, weight lifted twice a week, and by the end of month three, I was down almost 25 pounds and had NEVER felt healthier. My depression and anxiety was under control, my self-esteem was up, my work performance improved, and I looked good! And for the first time in years, I looked in the mirror and liked what I saw! Dominick and his team are great at holding their clients accountable so they can become the best versions of themselves! They are patient, they are understanding of the journey, and they genuinely want to help. Throughout the years I have gone through pregnancy, and post-partum, and Dominick has been there through every stage and has tailored my workout/nutrition accordingly. As a former runner, I've always been lean and struggled to build and maintain muscle mass. I tried several different formats and formulas on my own. I've also worked with many trainers over the years and always had mediocre results. In 2013, I had an opportunity to join on as a Reebok Sponsored Athlete and travel the country as a Les Mills National Trainer, training new fitness instructors in gyms all over. In 2006, I suffered a heart attack. I was in my early 60’s, worked long hours in my business and knew I needed to work in time for fitness into my routine as a matter of life and death. I had had a membership at the YMCA and several health clubs but always dropped out. One day near Christmas of 2006, I was stopped at the light next to Body Intensity in Wayne and decided to pull over and go in. I met Dominick Galvani that day and never looked back. That was 16 years ago. My son and are both Body Intensity lifers now. We found a place where we receive one to one attention from the trainer. I have worked with Dom during those 16 years. In the first five years, I was able to lose 55 lbs. and be in the best shape I had been in years. Dom designed a nutrition and exercise routine for me and challenged me to reach my goals. Most importantly for me, he holds me accountable. I can’t drop out.
My health has deteriorated over the past ten years but I have continued at Body Intensity while Dom tailored a fitness routine to my changing abilities and needs. My name is Michael. I am a 27 year old who had been struggling with my exercise and nutritional habits when I decided to try something new to lose weight. I had attempted to set up a session with a trainer at the gym where I was a member. After showing up to find that my trainer was not in the day of my initial appointment, I went to Body Intensity. I was immediately impressed from the beginning when Dom, the owner no less, spent an entire hour with me. I came into Body Intensity knowing what I wanted my body to look like, just not knowing how to get it there. I met with Dom (the owner) who was extremely encouraging and motivating for the trial consultation. After discussing my goals he teamed me up with Andrew, one of his trainers. Andrew helped me understand weight lifting and nutrition and that it is more than just showing up to the gym to lift. Andrew has experience in all aspects of body development. He gets a 10 out of 10 for sure and I strongly recommend him and Body Intensity. Andrew is encouraging and I am well on my way to reach my goals.

I started going to Body Intensity almost two years ago. At that time, my marriage fell apart and I needed to pick up the pieces and pull myself together for the sake of my children. At the most difficult times, my trainer, Jeremiah, helped me stay on track with my food journal and my training. Keeping my routine was the only thing that saved me from getting depressed and stay healthy.
When I train, Jeremiah uses a few different routines to keep it interesting. One of the most difficult routines that he likes to do ( and I do not…LOL) is the five minutes rounds. In five minutes he chooses three or four exercises and I have to do as many as I can within the 5 min. After 5 min I am exhausted and ready to leave but there are 50 min more to go….You should see how good I look!
When I first came to Body Intensity I was over weight and on my way to type 2 diabetes. My self esteem was low but my hope was high. Dominick's enthusiasm and encouragement is contagious. He hand picked a trainer for me and he was spot on pairing me with Kristen. She is encouraging and relentless in her pursuit of your fitness goals. Every workout is customized to my personal needs. I sought out personal training because I had never truly learned how to "work out". Yes, I looked at videos on YouTube and read various things online.
But, it simply wasn't how I needed to learn. I needed someone not to just show me in real life how to properly do various exercises, but to also help me learn which ones were right for me and my goals.
I had always seen the front of the Body Intensity studio at the intersection of Route 3 and Eagle Road and, decided to find out more. I looked online and saw that it was not set up like a drill instructor barking orders at miserable looking clients. They put an emphasis on the needs and desires of the individual client to create a program that best suited them.
I called them and set up my free consultation with the owner Dom. And, I was at the studio the next day to meet with him. We talked about my lifestyle, desires and setup a solid foundation for my program to develop with the trainer he felt would be the best suited for me.
That same week I had my first session with my trainer Jeremiah. In just that first
session I had learned an enormous amount about not just how to do the exercises I was presented with that day, but, also how they were supposed to feel! He was also able to explain to me what the movements were doing and their significance as a means to an end. Jeremiah also had an very respectful appreciation for my novice physical aptitude, starting me at reps, weights, and intensities that were manageable, while still challenging my limits. Jeremiah had me work harder than I ever would have on my own. I have been working with Jeremiah for over 2 years now. And, my transformation has been incredible! I am physically capable of things I had never imagined I would be able to do before! And, as I grow my program keeps growing along with me. I look and feel like I never have before! And, it would not have been possible without the enthusiastic, challenging, thoughtful efforts and guidance I was able to find in Jeremiah.
